Golden Cranes Take Down Supernovas, 5-3
|
"Getting ahead of the hitters is the key," said Simmons.
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes topped the Scranton Supernovas, 5-3, in M3L Triple A action at Nuclear Stadium. The player of the game was Santa Barbara pitcher Alex Simmons. The Supernovas, now 57-38, have lost 4 in a row.
Tied up with the Supernovas in the top of the seventh, the Golden Cranes got a boost from left fielder Sixto Álvarez. With a runner on 2nd, Álvarez saw a full count fastball from Bernardo Valdés and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Santa Barbara on top, 4-3.
"We had a good game plan," Simmons said, "and we were able to execute it."
