The Hamilton Coyotes stopped the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 10-8, at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The Coyotes got a big game from Jon Erickson, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The Coyotes saw their record improve to 33-58.

Managua, Nicaragua-born Tony Ríos came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Coyotes trailing 7-6, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Hamilton on top.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Hamilton manager Frank Phillips.
