Hamilton beat Salt Lake City at Coyote Wildlife Refuge, eking out a 8-7 win. The win was due in large part to first baseman Ralph May, who earned player of the game honors. Hamilton, at 31-54, occupies 11th place in the Menard's AAA.

Carlos Mercado was a key contributor to the win for the Coyotes. In the bottom of the seventh with no one out, the light-hitting catcher stroked a single to right. He was 1 for 4 with a walk, while scoring 3 runs.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Frank Phillips.
