Méndez Helps Disaster Run Win Streak to 3
Fans who came to Ballpark of Port Royal watched the Port Royal Disaster and the Alaskan Humpbacks fight to the finish.

The Port Royal Disaster knocked off the Alaskan Humpbacks, 13-2, at Ballpark of Port Royal. Martín Méndez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Port Royal won. The catcher was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. Wayne Downey locked down his 3rd save.

Méndez had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the fourth. On a full count fastball from Mario Ruíz, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Disaster a 5-1 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Méndez.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Méndez said.

Port Royal now has a 3-game win streak.
