Golden Cranes Get 6-5 Win Versus Salt Lake City
|
The Golden Cranes had to overcome a fine effort from Salt Lake City pitcher Rick Kennedy to grab a 6-5 win at Crane Field. Kennedy went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs. Alex Simmons earned the win to go to 4-8. He allowed 5 earned runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. Picking up the save was Armando Martínez, his 4th.
Also having an impact was second baseman Frank Grimes, who stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the first for Santa Barbara. For the game, Grimes was 2 for 4 with a double.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Grimes.
Santa Barbara bumps their record to 42-38 with the win.
