Chapon Whitewashes Bay Hawks
|
Jean-François Chapon effectively shut down the Bay Hawks today, blanking them 3-0 on 3 hits, ringing up 6 strikeouts and allowing 1 walk. The Belugas pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on.
"I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Chapon said after the game, "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there."
The Bay Hawks skipper said, "We had some opportunities, but weren't able to execute. We just didn't swing the bats very well today."
Looking at his pitching stats this season, Chapon has made no relief appearances, pitched 101 innings and fashioned a 7-7 record with a 3.74 ERA. He has recorded no saves, struck out 42 and allowed opposing clubs to hit .265 when he is on the hill.
