With designated hitter Eric Porter leading the charge, the Brinkley Belugas defeated the Alaskan Humpbacks, 11-4, at Sea World. Porter was 2 for 5 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Myles Wilkerson earned the win for Brinkley. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 8-10. Júlio Peña earned the save for Brinkley, his 1st of the year.

Had it not been for Jason Weston, the results might have been different. In the top of the seventh inning, when the Belugas were trailing 4-3, Weston hit a grand slam home run for Brinkley, giving his team the lead.

In comments to the Brinkley Gazette, Porter admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."

The Belugas bumped their record to 40-35 with this latest triumph.
