Golden Cranes left fielder Sixto Álvarez put his stamp on his team's 5-4 win over the Hialeah Dodos. Álvarez hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for Santa Barbara in the contest. Armando Martínez finished the game for Santa Barbara and earned his 2nd save. Santa Barbara now sits at 39-35, while Hialeah falls to 49-25.
The most important at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Santiago Maes threw a full count fastball to Álvarez, which he hit to right-center for a 3-run home run. It put Santa Barbara in front, 5-4.
In postgame remarks, Álvarez said: "We put it together today and came out with the win -- that's the main thing."
