Becerra Hits 2 home runs in Red Pandas Win
|
The exploits of first baseman Armando Becerra, who leads the 3AAA with a .362 batting average, helped the Sioux Falls Red Pandas defeat the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 8-0. Becerra belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Sioux Falls reliever Anthony Hanover picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Roger Garrett took the loss. The Red Pandas are now 28-40, while the Golden Cranes fall to 35-33.
One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the fifth, when Becerra hit a 3-run home run. The Red Pandas went on to win.
"Enjoyed this one," Becerra told the Sioux Falls Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
