Brinkley rode a good effort from starter Raúl Luna to beat the Bloomington Longnecks at Belugas Ballpark. The final score was 5-2. Brinkley is 4th in the Menard's AAA with a record of 35-32.
Parker Smith was 1-2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch for Brinkley. The 23-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. That's when he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Pedro Lara. It was his 22nd RBI of the season.
"I was a little disappointed," said Bloomington manager Juan Pliego. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
