The Golden Cranes faced a stiff challenge from Hamilton pitcher King Fletcher, but persevered to claim a win at Crane Field. The final score was 4-2. Fletcher went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The Golden Cranes move to 31-28 with the win, while the Coyotes drop to 23-36.
Salvador Noriega drove in one run for Santa Barbara. The 24-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. That's when he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Bill Washington. It was his 16th RBI of the season.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Santa Barbara manager Mark Harrison.
