Eduardo Díaz never let the Buckhead Bowties find their groove. Throughout the game, Díaz, who is tied for 6th in the PL with a 5 quality starts, relied on his bread and butter, his slider, in pitching the Thundercats to a win. In 7 innings, Díaz surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. The Thundercats saw their win-loss record go to 22-11. At the same time, the Bowties fall to 14-19.

Early in the game, designated hitter Terrence Eler had a 2-run home run for Richardson City. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Thundercats on top, 2-0.
