Bay Hawks Stun Belugas, 6-3
|
The Brinkley Belugas got a superb performance from pitcher Chae-seong Kim, but the Bay Hawks still won the game, 6-3. Kim was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball. Wilmington reliever Dalton García picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Glen Holland was saddled with the loss. Even with the win, the Wilmington Bay Hawks have a dismal 18-39 record.
Nelson Castillo provided some late-game heroics for Wilmington. In the top of the eighth inning, he hit a 2-run double. It came on a full count changeup from Richard Brown and propelled Wilmington to a 5-3 lead.
"Nice to get this one," said Castillo. "Wins have been hard to come by."
