Tight Tilt Goes to Lake Monsters, 4-3
|
The Hamilton Coyotes and Vermont Lake Monsters provided some drama at Coyote Wildlife Refuge.
The Vermont Lake Monsters topped the Hamilton Coyotes, 4-3, in M3L Triple A action at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The player of the game was Vermont pitcher and Papantla, Mexico native Tony Solíz. Solíz picked up the win for Vermont, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 4-2. Bill Lee earned the save for Vermont, his 11th of the year.
It could have been a different outcome for Vermont, had it not been for Rafael Pueblo, the 19-year old right fielder . Pueblo contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the second inning to put Vermont up, 2-1.
"We take it day by day here," said Solíz, "and today was a good one for us."
The Vermont Lake Monsters have an impressive 37-18 record.
