Disaster Hang 8-5 Loss on Buzz
|
The Salt Lake City Buzz got a superb performance from pitcher Ben Hopley. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Port Royal. The Disaster won the game, 8-5. In spite of the loss, Hopley was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. Port Royal reliever Wayne Downey picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Caleb Sobieski was saddled with the loss. Juan Carlos Herrera locked down his 2nd save.
David McJannett contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the seventh. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was one at-bat that propelled Port Royal to the win.
"We swung the bats pretty good throughout the lineup," said Port Royal skipper Davis Burt.
Port Royal currently is in 11th place in the Menard's AAA at 19-34.
