Red Pandas Come Up Short at Wilmington
|
The Wilmington Bay Hawks defeated the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 8-4, at Ballpark of Wilmington. Wilmington first baseman Artie Miller was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Claudio Díaz, who threw 113 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits. Wilmington currently is in last place in the Menard's AAA at 15-34.
Miller had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the third. On a 1-0 fastball from Mario González, he banged a 3-run home run to center, giving the Bay Hawks a 5-2 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Miller.
"We'll build on this win," said Miller.
