Longnecks Lose to Golden Cranes in Walk Off
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes picked up a win at Crane Field, knocking off the Bloomington Longnecks, 4-3. Starting pitcher Jason Troughton was an essential part of his team's success. Santa Barbara reliever Sergio Hernández got the win, raising his record to 4-2. Esteban Arroyo was tagged with the loss. Santa Barbara, now 25-24, holds 5th place in the Menard's AAA.
Sixto Álvarez provided some late-game heroics for Santa Barbara. In the bottom of the 12th inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a full count fastball from Esteban Arroyo and propelled Santa Barbara to a 4-3 lead.
"There's no quit in this team," said Santa Barbara Golden Cranes manager Mark Harrison.
