Steele Hands Vermont 3-1 Loss
|
The Bloomington Longnecks and Vermont Lake Monsters played a tight game at Monster Field, with the visitors getting the hard-fought win.
The Bloomington Longnecks got a magnificent performance from pitcher Chuck Steele, who muffled the Vermont offense en route to a tight 3-1 Longnecks win at Monster Field. John Watson finished the game for Bloomington and earned his 2nd save.
The Lake Monsters had few good swings against Steele, the right-hander, who threw 102 pitches over 8 innings. He allowed just no runs on 2 hits.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Bloomington Longnecks manager Juan Pliego, "I like our chances."
Bloomington now sits in 4th place in the Menard's AAA at 26-22.
