The Bloomington Longnecks were defeated, 8-6, by the Vermont Lake Monsters. Leading the charge for Vermont was right fielder Manny Valentín. He went 3-5 with 3 singles, while scoring 3 times. Wally Copeland earned the win for Vermont. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 5 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 3-2. Vermont has an impressive 31-15 record.
Domenic Gallard, who is rated as the 58th best prospect by BNN, aided the Vermont cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second. For the game, the left fielder drove in 2 runs.
