Belugas Come Up Short at Hamilton
|
Fans who gathered at Coyote Wildlife Refuge saw a good contest between the Hamilton Coyotes and Brinkley Belugas.
The Hamilton Coyotes trumped the Brinkley Belugas, 3-2, at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Hamilton left fielder Tony Ríos was named player of the game for his performance. He was 1 for 1, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Hamilton is 17-26 and Brinkley, with the loss, 19-24.
Ríos had a game-changing single in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch splitter from Jean-François Chapon, he banged a 2-run single to center, giving the Coyotes a 2-1 lead. It was the 35th hit of the year for Ríos.
In postgame comments to the Hamilton Herald, Ríos said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
