Brinkley left-hander Myles Wilkerson made an effective start against the Vermont Lake Monsters at Belugas Ballpark, leading his team to a 2-1 win. Steven Jones closed the game out for Brinkley, earning his 1st save. With the win, the Belugas have a record of 19-23.
In the bottom of the first, Steve Jones hit a 2-run home run for Brinkley. The 4th home run of the season for the Brinkley right fielder put the Belugas on top, 2-0.
Wilkerson called the triumph "a good team win."
