Bay Hawks Drop Belugas, 5-4
|
The Wilmington Bay Hawks and Brinkley Belugas obliged those fans who came to Ballpark of Wilmington hoping for an exciting game.
The Wilmington Bay Hawks downed the Brinkley Belugas, 5-4, at Ballpark of Wilmington. The Bay Hawks were led by Phil Parkinson, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with 3 singles. Wilmington reliever Dalton García was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Jean-François Chapon took the loss. Will O'Slattery picked up the save, his 1st.
In the bottom of the 7th, first baseman Artie Miller gave Wilmington the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Bay Hawks had been trailing 4-3, but the two-out double off Brinkley pitcher Jean-François Chapon changed that -- and Wilmington went on to win.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Parkinson told the Wilmington Daily News.
With the win over Brinkley, the Bay Hawks improved to 9-26.
