Porter Hits 2 home runs in Belugas Win
|
The Brinkley Belugas bested the Wilmington Bay Hawks, 15-4, at Ballpark of Wilmington. Eric Porter was named player of the game. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Myles Wilkerson was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 5 walks and 2 strikeouts. The Bay Hawks, at 8-26, have lost 4 straight games.
In the top of the fifth, Brinkley first baseman Peter Paul had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, Paul stroked a 3-run home run to right. It made the score 12-3, Brinkley. For the game, he was 2 for 6 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.
In comments to the Brinkley Gazette, Porter insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
