Manning Stars for Golden Cranes in 14-2 Win
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes beat the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 14-2, at The Bamboo Forest. The win was largely due to the efforts of catcher Logan Manning, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 5 times and drove in 3. Santa Barbara reliever Sergio Hernández picked up the win to move to 2-1. Mario González suffered the loss. The Red Pandas, now 11-21, have lost 5 straight.
Early in the game, Manning had a 2-run home run for Santa Barbara. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Golden Cranes on top, 2-0.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Santa Barbara Golden Cranes manager Mark Harrison.
