The Northern Virginia Retrievers and Richardson City Thundercats obliged those fans who came to The Thunder Dome looking for a good time.
Northern Virginia designated hitter Teruo Nakayama was instrumental in his team's 6-5 win over the Richardson City Thundercats. Nakayama, who is tied for 6th in the PL in bases on balls with 15, went 2-4 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Retrievers. The win puts the Retrievers at 9-20, while the Thundercats drop to 19-10.
The most important at-bat for Northern Virginia came in the top of the ninth inning, when pinch hitter Munemori Ohara stroked a 0-1 changeup to right for a 2-run double, putting Northern Virginia up, 6-5.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Nakayama.
