Lake Monsters Turn Back Brinkley, 5-3
|
Benefiting from the performance of Reijiro Sato, the Vermont Lake Monsters defeated the Brinkley Belugas, 5-3. Sato went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk for the Lake Monsters. The Belugas fall to 7-9 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2025 season.
Sato had a game-changing single in the bottom of the fourth. On a 1-0 fastball from Glen Holland, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Lake Monsters a 4-3 lead. It was the 22nd hit of the year for Sato.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Vermont manager Mike Cunningham.
