Humpbacks Deal Coyotes Painful Loss
|
The Hamilton Coyotes and Alaskan Humpbacks provided some drama at Sea World.
The Alaskan Humpbacks downed the Hamilton Coyotes, 6-5, at Sea World. The Humpbacks were led by Tom Benjamin, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win was credited to Jim Unknown in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jim Unknown took the loss.
Bryan Gregg was the walk-off hero for Alaskan. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Alaskan third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
In comments to the Alaskan Observer, Gregg admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
With the win, Alaskan pushes its record to 7-9.
