The Bloomington Longnecks were defeated, 7-2, by the Sioux Falls Red Pandas. Leading the charge for Sioux Falls was designated hitter Eldon McGillivour. He was 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks. The Red Pandas beat the Longnecks in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the single Mike Blue produced in the bottom of the fourth. Batting against Bloomington pitcher Fernando Ramírez, he gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"We were in it," said Bloomington manager Juan Pliego. "We just didn't score enough runs."
