Lake Monsters Stay Hot, Beat Red Pandas
The Vermont Lake Monsters got a stellar performance from pitcher Roberto Cantú, who handcuffed the Sioux Falls offense en route to a 5-1 win at The Bamboo Forest. Cantú, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 1 earned run. Rafael Rodríguez picked up the save for Vermont, his 1st of the year.

It could have been a different outcome for Vermont, had it not been for Reijiro Sato, the 32-year old catcher . Sato contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Vermont up, 3-1.

"If I do my job, we've usually got a pretty good chance to win the game," said Sato.

The Vermont Lake Monsters, now 10-2, have had a terrific start to the season.
