|
The Capital District Red Knights stopped the Louisville BC, 4-3, behind an impressive performance from Chris Costa. The 24-year old right fielder made life miserable for Louisville pitching. He was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Luis Peña, who went 9.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 11 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 2-3. Capital District's record now stands at 14-21, placing them 10th in the Division III.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With one out, Arturo Hernández hit a 0-1 fastball from Ronaldo Rey for a run-scoring single. It put Capital District in front, 4-3.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Costa.
