Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Kingston Township Legion got the win.
The Kingston Township Legion faced a tough opponent in Capital District pitcher Leroy Moody, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Capital Grounds by a final score of 3-2. Moody went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs. Kingston Township reliever Il-young Kim got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Miguel Toro was tagged with the loss.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, Juan Aguirre hit a full count sinker from Miguel Toro for a 2-run double. It put Kingston Township in front, 3-2.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Aguirre. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
After today's action, Kingston Township sits at 15-11, while Capital District falls to 11-15.
