BC Lose to Whalers, 6-3
|
Whalers first baseman Al Anderson put his stamp on his team's 6-3 win over the Philadelphia 1776 BC. Anderson went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Hartford in the contest. Hartford reliever Glenn West was the winner. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Yin-fat Foong. Hartford is 9-13 and Philadelphia 1776, with the loss, 13-9.
Anderson had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the fourth. On a 3-1 fastball from Yin-fat Foong, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Whalers a 5-1 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Anderson.
Philadelphia 1776 manager Kyle Norton said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
