Kingston Township beat Las Vegas, 8-0. The win in part was due to left fielder Pedro Mendoza, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Kingston Township starter Shigemasa Horiuchi was credited with the win after throwing 93 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. Yosuke Takahashi got the save, the 2nd for him this season.

One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth, when Mendoza hit a grand slam. The Legion went on to win.

"If we keep winning the close games" said Mendoza, "we'll be in good shape at the end."

The Kingston Township Legion, now 13-4, have been on fire in the early going.
