Flamingos Win at Kingston Township, 5-4
|
The Kingston Township Legion got a superb performance from right fielder Martín Núñes. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Las Vegas. The Flamingos won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, Núñes was named the player of the game. He went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Melvin Haney, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits in 7 innings. Enrique García recorded the save for Las Vegas, his 7th of the season.
Also producing for Las Vegas was center fielder Terry Sylvester, who stroked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth. For the game, Sylvester went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"It feels good to get that win," said Sylvester. "Now it's on to the next one."
Las Vegas is off to a hot start at 11-5.
