Legion, Rush Pin Bad Loss on Pandas
|
The Kingston Township Legion downed the Montana Pandas, 10-2, at Cloverdale Legion Park. The Legion were led by Clay Rush, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Jon Briddon picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 4-0. The win lifts Kingston Township to a record of 11-3.
Also contributing to the win was right fielder Martín Núñes, who stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the first for Kingston Township. For the game, Núñes went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Kingston Township Legion manager Rayzor Ray.
