|
Shigemasa Horiuchi never let the Capital District Red Knights find their groove. Throughout the game, Horiuchi, the 11 overall pick in the 2017 draft, relied on his bread and butter, his fastball, in pitching the Legion to a win. Toshiro Saikawa earned his 3rd save in 3 tries. With their winning streak at 5, the Kingston Township Legion have raced to a strong start this season.
Kingston Township grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Clarence Neal delivered a 2-run double, to make it 2-0 in favor of the Legion.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Horiuchi. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
