Fog Keller Stops Great Lakers
Monday, July 1st, 2024
"That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," the Fog manager told reporters after today's game. The Great Lakers ran into a buzzsaw as John Keller cut them down to size 9-0 with a 4-hit shutout.
His skipper added, "He knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one." In the complete game whitewash the Sunset District hurler doled out 1 walk and registered 6 strikeouts.
In the postgame press conference his catcher said, "John goes out there and just goes about his business. I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. You can call any pitch and you know where he's going to be."
Keller also got some praise from the Pure Michigan manager. "He really kept us in check today. Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away... we took some pathetic swings."
To date this year Keller has saved 0 games while tossing 56.2 innings. He has a 3.81 ERA, fanned 44 batters and made no relief appearances.
