SAAA Outstanding Hitter Award Goes To Vargas Sunday, October 6th, 2024 He may have less experience than some veteran members of the USSL Triple A, but that didn't slow Jorge Vargas down at alll in 2024. At the age of 22, the Sunset District first baseman has been named the winner of the USSL Triple A Outstanding Hitter Award. He had a .326 batting average and a .420 on-base percentage this year. In 90 games he piled up 113 hits, 18 doubles, 5 triples, 16 home runs, 46 RBIs and 56 runs scored. "I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year." Ron Peterson of the Alloway Halberds finished second in voting, while Sean Angwin of the Pure Michigan Great Lakers finished third. |
