Hits Galore: López Drills 5 Hits Sunday, September 1st, 2024 It was high-5 day at Nuggets Park, at least for Rubén López of the Rocky Mountain Nuggets. He got a lot of high-5's for his outstanding hitting against the Brooklyn Dodgers, but he and his teammates couldn't pull out a win. López smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on a his record-setting day, but Rocky Mountain still dropped the game 8-7. His manager said, "Rubén was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him. Too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion and get the victory." In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN writers, "López bushwhacked my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, we won the ballgame." Rubén López hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Russ Horne in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. |
