Montalópez Receives Updated Diagnosis Saturday, August 31st, 2024 José Montalópez will have to wait a while longer. The Yellowknife reliever was informed this afternoon that he will miss another 9 months with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. The injury has kept him off the field since 08/28/2024. Though Montalópez had hoped to return soon, he has no choice but to be patient. "Gotta stay focused," he said. "Gotta stay positive." Montalópez's record up to now is 6-and-3 with no saves and a 2.77 ERA. He has given up 83 hits in 78 innings with 48 strikeouts. |
