5-Hit Blitz by Chambers Thursday, September 19th, 2024 On top of the Boston hit parade today was Bill Chambers. He went to the plate 9 times and tagged 5 hits, but it was Vancouver that marched off with the 2-1 win. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 5-for-9 performance, however the Grey Wolves marked it up in the victory column. The sweet swinging shortstop told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Patriots griped to the press, "As a team, we just didn't do it with the bats and the pitching today. That's why we lost." Bill Chambers grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th, singled in the 10th, flied out in the 13th, singled in the 15th, doubled in the 17th and flied out in the 19th.
