Player of the Week: Mercer Island's Tien Monday, August 14th, 2023 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the USPL Double A, but last week Dong-po Tien of the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Tien rocked opposing pitching for a .450 average (9-for-20), 3 home runs and 5 RBIs to come away with the award. Tien is hitting .308 this year with 3 home runs, 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored. He has 12 hits in 39 at-bats, 3 walks and a .357 on-base percentage. Tien has played in 9 games. |
