Buckner Grabs SAA Top Pitcher Trophy Saturday, July 1st, 2023 Over the past month Kirby Buckner has turned quite a few heads. He's young, talented and able to pitch with the established arms in the USSL Double A. He proved all that and now he's been named June's Pitcher of the Month. The rookie for the Asheville Highlanders posted 5-1 mark and a 1.21 ERA. In 6 starts he tossed 44.2 innings, permitted 27 hits and fanned 39 batters. This year Buckner has a 5-1 mark in 6 starts with a 1.18 ERA. He has given up 27 hits in 45.2 innings, struck out 40 and issued 19 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .172 batting average against him. |
