Mata Earns SAA Top Pitcher Trophy Friday, September 1st, 2023 Luis Mata's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 4-1 in August, the 33-year-old Virginia Beach hurler has been named USSL Double A Pitcher of the Month. He fanned 28 in 39.2 innings, logged an ERA of 2.72 and allowed opponents to hit .238 against him. This season-to-date, Mata has fashioned a 4-3 mark and 4.21 ERA in 57.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .270 against him and he has logged 46 strikeouts. |
