Shannon Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Wednesday, August 30th, 2023 The Disaster proved to be mere mortals today as they lost to the Red Pandas 8-6, but Wes Shannon continued his god-like hitting as he collected 1 hit and ran his hitting streak to 20 games. When asked about his torrid-hitting center fielder, the Port Royal skipper said, "Shannon is playing great and is on fire now. Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Shannon was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said, "We lost the game. Nothing else really matters." Wes Shannon struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and flied out in the 9th. Thus far this season Shannon is hitting .298 with 4 home runs, 44 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 72 hits in 242 at-bats and has played in 63 games. |
