Top Pitcher Trophy Won by Torch Robles Friday, September 22nd, 2023 "Turn out the lights, the party's over" was Valentín Robles's favorite saying this year as he strolled in from the bullpen to a deafening roar from the crowd. The USPL Single A made official today what the Mancelona Torch and their fans have known all year: He's not just the best closer in the league -- he's the 2023 USPL Single A Outstanding Pitcher Award winner. Robles converted no saves this year with a 12-3 won-lost record and 1.34 ERA. He appeared in 16 games and struck out 146 in 120.2 innings. Xavier Padilla of the Gwinnett County Black Cats finished second in voting, while Ramón Castaneda of the Grim Reapers finished third. |
