River Rats-Hawks Fight Nets 4-Game Suspensions Saturday, June 17th, 2023 At a recent River Rats-Hawks contest at Columbia Stadium, Luis Vicenteno of Columbia took exception to what Enrique Madrid of Highwood said to him and tackled him. This led to an old-fashioned bench-clearing free-for-all between the two clubs. After the umpires restored order, they ejected both players. Today the league commissioner's office took action and suspended each player for 4 games, citing them for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct." Thus far this year Vicenteno has hit .209 with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs. In pitching stats this season Madrid has rung up 3 wins and 1 loss in 7 games. He has an ERA of 1.16 and has fanned 42 batters in 38.2 innings. |
