Mayer Twirls Plainsmen to Shutout Win Sunday, September 4th, 2022 In a knockout performance, Leif Mayer beat the Tula 4-0 with an impressive 4-hit shutout. The Plainsmen hurler finished with 9 strikeouts and 1 walk. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball. Mayer told reporters after the game, "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working... it don't get any better than this." The Tula manager said, "It was a rough one for my guys. We weren't at our best... and their guy was." On his stats sheet this season Mayer shows a 9-8 record, 21 starts, 141.1 innings, 137 strikeouts and a 3.37 ERA. |
