Esparza, Ortíz Suspended for Fracas Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023 The league decided to come down hard on Salvador Esparza of the Caterpillars and José Ortíz of the Mango for their roles in a brawl during a game between Grand Forks and Provo at The Cocoon. Both combatants will receive 6-game suspensions because of their confrontation. Thus far this year Esparza is hitting .235 with 3 home runs, 23 RBIs and 21 runs scored. To date this season Ortíz has compiled a 4-11 record with a 3.50 ERA in 21 starts. |
