USPL Double A Names #1 Pitcher in June Friday, July 1st, 2022 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Johnny Wheeler, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Springfield Shooters reliever, 24, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .162 average and walked away with the USPL Double A Pitcher of the Month award for June. Wheeler posted a 4-0 mark and a 1.60 ERA in no relief appearances. In 33.2 innings, he had no saves, 18 strikeouts, and 11 walks. During this season Wheeler has delivered 0 saves. In 2 relief appearances, he has 22 strikeouts in 45.1 innings with a 2.58 ERA and 5 wins and 1 loss. |
